Oh, well, time to put the grown-ups to bed.
It wasn’t TV, but it wasn’t quite HBO either back in 1977. Even after opening with a very thorough introduction warning concerning George Carlin’s use of profanity in his first HBO On Location special, this has to appear just before the famous seven dirty words bit saved for the third act.

George Carlin interview in 2007. I’ve never heard a comedian say that you can blame the audience when jokes don’t work. Leave it up to Carlin to fuck with a comedian’s perspective.
